Facilities Management and Statutory Compliance

We have a fully developed support service in relation to supporting schools, Academies & Multi Academy Trusts in ensuring that they are fully compliant and are adhering to their statutory duties with regard to buildings and facilities management. This support is accessed through a 1. 2 or 3 year Service Level Agreement [Cost savings offered for 2 & 3 year contracts]. 

 

We have a dedicated, effective and professional Statutory Compliance team who all have direct experience in schools as School Business Managers and associated roles. As a result they are fully aware of the challenges schools face in managing this key area of works. 

 

The team will assist and advise schools in all areas relating to statutory compliance, on addition to advise regarding items that we believe should be effectively maintained / serviced etc, even if not technically “statutory”, to protect schools / Governing Bodies / Trusts, from financial claims or reputational damage.  

 

Our user friendly “live” online Statutory Testing / Compliance system ensures that schools or Trust Boards can keep track of required testing dates, upload reports for completed tests and produce reports for Governing Bodies / Trust Boards etc. We provide training and ongoing day to day response support in relation to the updating of the system.    

We have developed a schedule of required compliance items and provide advice and support to schools to allow local flexibility but ensure that all statutory servicing and inspections of building services installations etc is carried out by a relevant contractor / company who have all the necessary qualifications and accreditations.  

Our team can assist schools to get prices / quotes for their statutory compliance items and schools then place the orders directly with their chosen contractors/suppliers. This will ensure that this important element is carried out by competent contractors and formally recorded ready for inspection by third parties. The works included here are plant and equipment, gas appliances, legionella, periodic testing and inspection of fixed electrical installations, portable appliance testing, fire alarms, fire-fighting equipment and emergency lighting installations, lightning conductors etc [please note this is not an exhaustive list]. We will also support schools to obtain Display Energy Certificates [DEC] in accordance with requirements.  

Upon receipt of servicing / inspection information, we will advise on any recommended remedial works, obtain quotations as required and support / check on the completion of these remedial works.
